Update: Tom Long rescuing a massive pure-bred muskie, which had large wound from attemped unlawful snagging. Other fish had hooks stuck in their sides from snagging attempts. Many fish beat up from trying to jump falls to get back to lake. Over the weekend, another 11 fish were saved – bringing the total to 36 fish. Another effort will take place late afternoon Wednesday May 4th 2014. Photos will continue to be posted in our photo gallery
High water level at Marsh Creek Lake has allowed Muskies to pass through the dam and end up in the spillway. An effort by MI50 and other volunteers is underway to save these muskies and return them to the lake. We would like to thank Mark Peters Jr and Robbie Peters, from Garnet Valley, PA for their volunteering efforts on Day 1 – which saw 10 muskies returned to the lake. On Saturday and Sunday, May 31 and June 1, an organized effort to return the remaining fish will take place. If you would like to help, please contact Tom Long at tomlong110 @ Comcast.net
The Lake is located in Marsh Creek State Park (675 Park Rd, Downingtown, PA 19335 ) Google Map
