Every other year or so for the last 12 years, MI Chapter 50 has organized and conducted a “Kids Fishing Day”.  This event drew attendance of 25-40 kids annually coming out for the fun of fishing at “The Pond” at Lake Nockamixon State Park in Bucks County PA.  Children from ages 2 or 3 up to 12 came out to learn, fish and eat a few hotdogs, chips, soda and water all free of charge.  Often these events featured the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission setting up a canopy and having a good time teaching the kids about fish, plant life, handing out informational pamphlets to parents.  “This event is truly one of the most enjoyable things about my job”, said Mike Kauffman of the PFBC.  Due to Covid19, we could not conduct our kids fishing day but plan to return in 2021!
